O-1 STATUS

Overview

The O-1 visa is for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement. The O-1A covers extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics; the O-1B covers extraordinary ability or achievement in the arts and the motion picture and television industries.

Key requirements

Applicants must demonstrate sustained national or international acclaim and recognition for their achievements, documented through a combination of qualifying evidence (such as major awards, critical roles, published material, high remuneration, or commercial/critical success). An advisory opinion from a relevant peer group, labor organization, or expert is typically required, and a U.S. employer or agent must file the petition.

How Do Law can help

We assess your record against the O-1 criteria, build a compelling evidence portfolio, obtain the required consultation/advisory opinions, and prepare a petition that clearly conveys the significance of your work.
